In my Astronomy class today, we were spoke briefly of Astrology. The Zodiac calendar was built around the 12 constellations that the sun was passing through the times of the year. It was first established in 200 B.C. 

It is now 2012.. And we use the same calendar as the one created way back then… Because of an effect called Precession, the Sun now appears to travel a different path than it did. I was somewhat interested that the zodiac calendar was outdated… So using Stellarium… I spent about 30 minutes and decided to update it myself for this year.

Modern Day Zodiac

Sagittarius: December 19- January 19
Capricorn: January 2- February 16
Aquarius: Feb 17- March 10
Pisces: March 12- April 17
Aries: April 18- May 13
Taurus: May 14- June 20
Gemini: June 21- July 19
Cancer: July 20- August 9
Leo: August 10- September 15
Virgo: September 16- October 30
Libra: October 31- November 22
Scorpio: November 23- November 29
Ophiuchus: November 30- December 18
